I agree things might go OK in conference for the Lions depending on which version of the team shows up
We do have potential and depth
Aggies are very good so the USF loss might not be as bad as it first appears
Santa Clara got whipped by the Aggies also

Lots of good measuring stick games today, with everyone but Portland playing an opponent with a similar record. St. Mary's and BYU get ranked opponents in San Diego State (on now) and Creighton, respectively, plus there's a good coastal contest between Pepperdine and UCSB and their former LMU basketball manager/director of opps, Andrew Payne.

I watched the BYU game. Neither team played well. Creighton was missing their very good big and it showed. The Cougars had a huge rebound edge. Creighton was down about 10 with only a couple minutes to go. The Jays began pressing and the Cougars absolutely panicked. They were throwing the ball EVERYWHERE except the court and maybe the second tier of seats.
If I were Coach Stan, I’d be working a full court press defense for our upcoming BYU game.

The Waves play Hawaii in the Diamond Head Classic today. Hawaii is favored.
Maybe the Lions can get an invite to Hawaii next year?

CSUN, without a win against a D1 opponent this season, just beat USD in Northridge 83-78. Our old friend Jawara with 25 for the Lavin Toreros, who fall to 7-7.
