I know you all probably didn’t take my Porter gambling joke too well but honestly this family hasn’t been making good decisions lately, except for MPJ I suppose.

Just when things are looking rosy for LMU basketball, there is a hiccup. Hope this incident gets resolved in the best interests of all.

Just when things are looking rosy for LMU basketball, there is a hiccup. Hope this incident gets resolved in the best interests of all. I agree. Personally, I have a low tolerance level for behavior that reflects badly on the team. I have an even lower tolerance level for DWI/DUI. On the other hand, the family has been through a lot lately. I ask myself, how would I handle this situation if it were me? Most assuredly different than he did. BUT, I’m not 20. How am I feeling about it? Disappointed for sure; but I won’t condemn or forgive until I hear the facts (which I know I may never learn). As 9045 says, let’s hope this works out for the best. It’s fortunate Coach Romar is around. I’m sure he is playing a significant role right now in working with Javon and his family.

Thanks for posting boothlion. I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth and will take the top ranking. I'm not used to seeing our new league members yet and am not familiar with their personal like I am with current WCC teams. One of our issues last season was learning to play best as a team. We'll have some of that with the new squad and I'm hoping for the best. I believe we do have the talent in most positions to succeed. (PG excepted, perhaps)

I find it comical that Loyola Marymount is not mentioned until the third paragraph and quaint of ESPN to quote the university as a being. Nothing from AD Pintens or Coach SubStandard. Max Not-So-Good would already be choking the closest player he couldn’t remember the name of and Dunlap would be quoting a means-nothing saying from a poster he hung on the wall of his Whelan dorm, Ed Goorijan would be trying on sweaters at the Glendale Galleria and blaming Ron Jacobs and Ron Jacobs would be telling the players “I don’t care what you do and if we have to forfeit every game after losing to Arizona State in the NCAA tournament because nobody went to class I can always scoot off to the Philippines to prolong my career”.

Noah Taitz? And there it is Noah Taitz entered the transfer portal per Verbal Commits.

Ha, some blasts from the past.
Jacobs could coach! Took over a last place team and went to the Big Dance in his first (and only) season.

I wish Taitz well. Hopefully he can get healthy and resume his career. I suspect Cal Baptist is giving him a call.

Taitz signed with Utah Valley. Bit odd there was a “1 for 1 player trade” with UCLA and now Utah Valley. Out of all the gin joints.

Is Porter still around? Haven't seen or heard much about him.

I was on campus last Thursday during the kids basketball camp and I saw JP shooting baskets during what seemed to be down time. 👍

I agree. He can be a difference maker. And I hope he can stay on the straight and narrow path. We criticize Coach Stan and Coach Romar for some of their shortcomings but they are both truly into their players and will show Porter the love and support he needs.
