Wright is not coming and looking elsewhere.
Walker worked out with San Luis Obispo the other day.
There are still some amazing things in the works for next season and the `09 class. We're all going to be REALLY happy with the makeup of the team.

ironlions, i love what you do with the charts!!! Could you make a similar one of what the ENTIRE team will look like for 2008-2009? And those who will have to sit out a year? Im so excited about the team it would make me happy to see them all in one of your charts! |

It is hard to say how many are in play as there are always new opportunities. It seems Coach Bayno has endless connections and is approached all the time by players, coaches and scouts from around the world. Things are still in a state of flux right now.
But that's not going to help answer your question. Let me put it another way. I apologize for this sounding like a bit of a riddle, but you will understand if it works out. I think we will bring in 1-3 more players this year, but only 1-2 will be in school in the fall. Sorry, can't say anything more right now.

Thanks. I appreciate the reply and I understand. I was just curious if we already knew all the 2008-09 eligible players. From your response, it sounds to me like you expect 1-2 more additions for the 08-09 team and then a mid-year transfer or an 09 early signee yet this recruiting season.
So if I am reading your "riddle" correctly, the 08-09 eligible team shapes up as Teel, Armstead, Hamilton, Deric, Diederichs, Sutton, Counts and perhaps 1 or 2 more to be determined.

Well things are still in flux and so to an extent no one knows for certain. Also I do have to be careful not to reveal too much or I will have less access to information in the future. And I do not want to misrepresent or be harmful to any of our recruiting efforts now or in the future.
Coach Bayno has already passed on some very good players because they weren't a good fit for him, the team or the school. Some would have created a logjam at a position, some weren't willing to make the academic commitment necessary to succeed at the school and some didn't have enough eligibilty left - yet I would have been excited to see them all in an LMU uniform.

Thanks for all the updates. So, if we have Teel, Armstead, Hamilton, Deric, Diedrichs, Sutton, Counts, Turner, and Jenkins, would this be the depth chart?:
1-Teel, Counts, Turner
2-Jenkins, Armstead
3-Hamilton
4-Diedrichs, Deric
5-Sutton
Love the athleticism, but definitely need some beef (obviously we are still two or three players short of our roster, but hopefully they can all rebound). I know we have Viney (4?) and Davis (2/3?) in the wings, but it looks like there is already a logjam of 2s and 3s. Is this depth chart close? And any word on LMU getting a shooter (another 2) from either Nevada/Utah/or Colorado?

LongtimeLionFan: Turner and Jenkins are still on the team as well. How can Quinten Turner still be on this Bayno team?  I don't want start a rant about this subject, but this doesn't seem to make ANY sense? Please provide this board some rationale on this decision as from an oustide observing all LMU home games last season, QT would be low hanging fruit to dispose off the roster. The aforementioned is not intended to knock QT, but rather shows the inadequate recruiting of talent that Rodney possessed. |
