Both Hill and Morris would be amazing for us. However, their scout's and rivals profiles don't list us as one of their interests. All we have is run the systems' word we are after them. Of the three I think we have the best shot at Bak Bak.

Bobby Shresthratic, stop hating Mick's, like Ireland or Beantown is between India & China, and say hello. Run said one of them we was on, and I'm sure it's Bak BZA. Morris is out out our league, but he's also brushed off B.C. and has been all about the big blue sinc I've been following him. Strange choice. Solomon, well, let's just say that even with Billy B, I'd be more than shocked if LMU started getting elite Fairfax kids.

shredaahead,
Bak would be great for us. I also heard Bayno's on a PG out of the Himalayas named Sid Fitch.
You gonna come to some games next year?

Any chance JD could be wearing a lion uniform next year? Parents of prospective basketball recruits....take a lesson from my experience with a college coach. My son turned down scholarship offers to play for several high Division 1 basketball schools over the period of his four years at Westchester H.S. A desire to play at the college level as a point guard was the attraction that lead to his signing with Coach Matt Doherty and SMU in Dallas, Texas. Understand this, rosters for interested universities along with scholarship availability were checked and the "homework" was done. The school provides a great academic program with an excellent Communications Dept. which J.D. plans to major. Throughout the recruitment process, Head Coach Doherty emphasized the fact that with four scholarship for the 08 class, two were committed to wings, one big and J.D. was his number one recruit at the point guard position. With a returning class of two point guards, coach assured us that another point guard would not be signed until 09. Now after committing and signing during the early signing period in Nov., assistant coach Lance Irvin got a job upgrade to Southern Illinois as the number one assistant after playing an instumental role in getting our commitment to SMU. This occurred in late March 08. During the late signing period in April, the coaching staff decided to add Derek Williams, a junior college point guard from Western Texas JC. Several weeks later they added Paul McCoy, an 08 point guard from Oregon. Naturally, upon reading this information on the SMU web site, Coach says he didn't think this was an issue for him to call us, the family decided it would not be a great choice of schools under those circumstance. The assistant coach that was the biggest supporter of J.D. was gone; now they sign two point guards after a promise not to bring another pg in until 09; yet when we filed a Request to Release J.D. of his NLI, it was denied. Coach and the university feels that J.D. should honor his commitment and not be afraid to come and compete. Hopefully, this board will allow this message to appear since I've encountered the long hand of Coach Doherty's influence. The AD, Steve Orsini didn't respond to my email to speak with him on the issue. I called Jeff Konya, Assistant Compliance Director at SMU to request his attention in the matter, and he sent an email directing me to the Basketball/Athletic Dept.(Coach Doherty currently does not feel like talking), the Compliance Director has not responded to an email sent to her over a week ago. An Appeal To The National Letter Of Intent Policy and Review Committee was filed and denied recently. So Parents, especially Andy Brown of Mater Dei and any others being recruited by SMU, understand the position of the Coach and university. You sign a NLI agreeing to attend the university. Regardless of what has verbally been promised, if it is not written in the NLI, they feel no obligation on keeping their word. I've been described as the Dad living his dream through his kid, providing a poor example to J.D. by not honoring the NLI, etc.; regardless, J.D. has done everything right, graduating as an honor roll student in the Magnet Program, and is a good kid, he doesn't deserve this. Since he will not attend SMU, he could suffer a Basic Penalty. He would have to sit out one year and a red shirt year and then have only 3 years of eligibilty at the Division 1 level. SMU could grant his release tomorrow if they wanted. He does not want to attend another Conference USA school; but would like to have an opportunity to talk with other schools before the signing period ends in late July. I'm very familiar with the occasional "haters" that appear on the board; and, I'm prepared to accept all criticism; however, our options appear limited. Also note, Susan Peal, Director of the NLI has been contacted, and in discussions with her, Prep school was not an option; also she stated that even though J.D. is a qualifier, should he attend junior college, he would need to receive an AA degree prior to transferring to a Division 1 university. Southern California....ask SMU....."What Happened With Jarred DuBois"....just listen to the response and then you be the judge.

I have been following the situation very closely. I really hope Jarred will have the opportunity to join LMU. I think SMU and Coach Doh’s actions are quite questionable to put it nicely. Since it has been clearly stated Jarred will not attended SMU and the assistant coach who brought him to SMU are gone, why not release him. I think making him have to sit out a year seems vindictive. Moves like this could have future repercussions if SMU tries to recruit in SoCal. For myself I’m really hoping Coach Doh comes to his senses. I would LOVE to see Jarred in a LIONS uniform.

Lion4Life, I feel for you. This is another example of D1 athletics that makes me sick to my stomach. In good faith you signed with SMU. Certain, very critical concerns were communicated prior to your signing. IMO, TRUST has been broken with the additional signings of 2 more PG's. Now, you want out of your LOI. And now you are the bad guys and are not teaching your son the correct responsibilities. What a crock of BS. Just another example of a coach who doesn't give a crock of sh.t about his players. Just a piece of meat. I hope Doherty now gets his butt kicked.

WHOOO HOOO!!! ;D ;D ;D
I have been waiting for this news for a long long time. I'm so excited to have Jarred join LMU. I watched JD in Gersten just shooting around and could tell he was very talented.
Congrats to the Dubois family and welcome to the LMU family. Glad coach Doh and SMU did the right thing.
Go Lions!

I am confused. Who says that he is coming to LMU? Also, if he was coming what is our current roster have at his spot? Do we have a logjam forming?

Just a little know fact about Jarred Dubois....
For you film buffs and those in the entertainment industry, Jarred Dubois appeared in television mini-series "The Team" in 2005. The cast included Lil' Romeo and Master P among other actual high school basketball standouts like Oscar Bellfield.
It was a sports, documentary about basketball players fourteen and under trying out for and win places on a basketball team, the P Miller Ballers, that hopes to make it to the AAU Basketball Championships. The challenges the selected individuals face both on and off the court is documented.
Watch out Dustin Brown, you have some competition now with Jarred! ;D

If I'm correct his Dad Lion4Life said he is coming. Jarred will run the point for us just like he ran the point at Westchester. This will allow for Vernon to play the 2. Corey did a great job for us and should still get mintues but his size hurt us some time. I'm hoping for a offical word shortly. Go Lions
