Even more good reports. Looks like another exciting season, hopefully above average. We'll see how "the best player in Sofia" translates to D1 basketball in the states.

8/3/2018 - JUCO SG Nathanael Jack (6-4, 195, 2★) has received an offer from Loyola Marymount. verbalcommits.com/players/nathanael-jack Also has offers from Florida State, ASU, Washington State, St. Bonaventure and Fullerton, among others. Can't tell when he may go D1 ball - this season or next. I'm assuming our roster is set for this season unless there is something we don't know yet about someone else leaving the program.

I agree Texascat - hope the open practice gives some insights. If it's just drills like happened in Dunlap's first season, it may not reveal much.

I agree Texascat - hope the open practice gives some insights. If it's just drills like happened in Dunlap's first season, it may not reveal much. Likely because Dunlap runs the most sophisticated offensive that he can’t give away his secrets that he learned from George Karl, Steve Lavin, Lute Olson, Roy Williams, Coach K, Pop , Red Aurobach, James Naismith

8/4/2018 - JUCO SG Sam Baker (6-4, 170, 2★) has received an offer from Loyola Marymount. verbalcommits.com/players/sam-baker Mystery to me when these new JUCO guys will commit somewhere or where they might fit on the Lions' roster. Baker has tons of offers besides LMU's.

Both Baker and Jack would be 2019 recruits. Both are going into their sophomore year at JCs in Florida.
What is really interesting about Baker, though, is that as a freshman this past season he averaged 20 points a game at… North Dakota State College of Science… The same school that brought us James Batemon! Hopefully Batemon can put in a good word.

Portland lost a recruit to Northridge. Is he the son of World Peace? 9/4/2018 - Portland 2018 PF Ron Artest III (6-8, 215, 2★) committed to Cal State Northridge. verbalcommits.com/players/ron-artest-iii

Yes, Ron Artest III is the son of Metta World Peace. Played at Beverly Hills two years ago, would be a solid player if he was motivated and focused on basketball.

Fairfield fan here. Correct, Essa DNP last season. All but certain he was healthy and it was coach's decision. He did very little production-wise in HS, and apparently lost a lot of weight late in his HS career. Not sure how he ended up at Fairfield, but he was a walk-on/considered a project. Don't know why he transferred to LMU...I'm guessing it may be for reasons other than basketball given he's still a walk-on. Bottom line: the kid's 6'9" so who knows. Hope it works out for Essa/LMU, but I wouldn't hold your breath expectation-wise, certainly not in the short-term. Yeah, Fairfield is practically up the street from NYC yet we have kids from all over the world...LOL. Still waiting for the international strategy to pay off. Best of luck to LMU on its upcoming season!
