Why should I root for the Zags? They are not my alma mater.
When it all comes down to it, I'm loyal to my boys. i went to LMU, I root for LMU. It doesn't matter to me whether or not the WCC is a no name league. To me, it's about being loyal to my university, so I'm not understanding your logic in any way.
And yes, I know who that question was aimed toward. However, I do still have the freedom to respond to it, as it was not a private message.

Haha i am not even going to respond to your comment because obviously you dont understand the big picture. ahhh. haha. Some of your posts make me laugh. You sound like a fan, and I am not dissing that. My point is that Gonzaga's continued success is good for the league, as is the success of every other program. When the lions are playing the zags, sure you root for the lions.

Yes, I understand what you're saying. And for someone who is looking at that bigger picture, that's cool. I am not as in depth with the big NCAA picture as some of you guys are. I am a fan of my university's team. My focus is on whether or not my boys can dig themselves out of this hole LMU is currently in, considering OUR reputation is crappy. Is Gonzaga still trying to get out of the WCC? If I recall correctly, they were while I was in school. I mean, it's got to get boring after awhile, when you know the rest of the teams aren't performing at the same consistent caliber as you are, so you essentially win every game you play. What I think is sad is that, while the hope was to bring the rest of the teams up to Gonzaga's level, I think the only consistency we've seen is the strength in St. Mary's continuing to grow.

LMU will be fine. I am expecting big things in the next few years. And the perception that Gonzaga is trying to leave the WCC is totally media generated.

No "tention" here. As for point #2, jlion, I remember hearing a few years back that the Zags were thinking about getting out of the WCC because the rest of the league wasn't playing at their level. It could have been COMPLETELY media-generated, as the zagfan stated. That's why I asked the question.

I am pretty scared about the Waves. I mean that performance they put up against St. Mary's was pretty remarkable

Definetly some good young guard play this year. The freshman of the year looks like it might come down to:
Jarred DuBois G 13.7 2.8 3.1 T.J. Campbell G 10.5 2.2 5.1 Kevin Foster G 13.3 2.1 2.0 Keion Bell G 10.9 3.4 1.9 Kwame Vaughn G 9.5 3.4 1.4
really the only non-guard with a shot is: LaRon Armstead F 10.1 5.9 1.2

Another impressive thing is I believe we score the least points per game. Harder to come by points for our freshman, and more impressive how many they are scoring.

Also T.J Campbell is not a freshman but a junior at Portland.

Big game this Thursday #22 St. Mary's at #20 Gonzaga. 8pm on ESPN or ESPN2.
The mental toughness of the Zags has been questioned...this will be a big test for them.

Zags at Portland tonight at 800pm on ESPN2. Probably one of the biggest games in the history of Pilots basketball. Should be a great game to watch.
