If Mills leaves this year, he will regret it. He is not himself in the WCC tournament and the extra game SMC scheduled won't help. If he gets drafted (unlikely), pay won't be all that great and he won't get many minutes. Its a tough transition to the pros for even the best - look at Adam Morrison. In fact, he probably should not be playing with his injury but perhaps he insisted, or perhaps you cannot do too much permanent damage to the hand. ESPN showed his hand on Sunday TV and it was swollen and red around the surgical scar. His shot was way off - even his free throws. His speed and dynamicism was on full display as best it could be under the circumstances. I prefer LMU's approach of not taking chances when we redshirted Hamilton and Diederichs with Sutton out for the year also (no Red Shirt - he already used his). No sense injuring these young men for life for a game. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what could get Saint Marys an NCAA invite at this time but I would like to be pleasantly surprised. Happy and sorry to say we will have to face Mills again next year. It will make the league more interesting. Go Lions!

Mills is projected at a top 10 pick in the draft.
Joe Lanardi has St. Mary's out of the tournament. It would have been better if the didn't get lambasted last night.

Hope you are right about Mills. He did excel in the Olympics starring for Australia while playing against the PROs. 2 of 16 (or 18) on Monday though. No one in the WCC could keep up with Gonzaga this year - they have too many horses in the stable. Maybe next year we can give them a scare.

Yeah he also had Georgetown winning five straight to take the Big East Tourney. Oops!

Gonzaga could not score in the paint and had a cool shooting night from the perimeter plus NC was hot from the field. I think the Zags got overwhelmed last night.
